Camping Holidays in Germany

With its wealth of scenic and cultural interests, Germany is a land of contrasts. From the flat lands of the north to the mountains in the south, with forests in the east and west, regional characteristics are a strong feature of German life and present a rich variety of folklore and customs.

Each region in Germany differs greatly to the next. Home of lederhosen, beer and sausages is Bavaria in the south, full of charming forest villages, beautiful lakes, and towering mountains dotted with castles. In the southwest, Baden Wurttemberg is famous for its ancient Black Forest, with dense woodlands, medieval towns and scenic lakes, this region is a walker's paradise, Further west is the stunningly beautiful, Rhine Valley full of romantic castles, wine villages, woodland walks and river trails. Eastern Germany is studded with lakes and rivers, undulating lowlands that give way to mountains. The north has its lively ports such as Bremen and Hamburg and picturesque coastal towns, where water sports are a popular pastime in the North Sea. The capital city of Berlin situated in the northeast of the country, is an increasingly popular tourist destination, with its blend of old and modern architecture and huge variety of entertainment on offer.
