Camping with a Tent

Are you a 'casual' camper? Perhaps you have acquired a tent in the last year or so and used it for a festival or an exploratory weekend away? Now, perhaps, you're fancying getting serious and heading off to France or Spain and feel a touch of trepidation. Well relax - it's very simple. Continental campsites are very 'tent-friendly' offering wonderful locations and often with special areas for tents and services like fridge hire.

The kids enjoy setting up camp and getting to know new friends - international language barriers do not seem to exist in a campsite.

So enjoy the atmosphere, savour the sensational food, sip the local red and chill out. It's what pitching your own tent is all about.

Keeping it real

If you fancy holidaying under canvas but prefer not to take your own tent with you, or perhaps prefer a solid log cabin with a wood burning stove, then we have a solution. We work with Huttopia and Indigo who offer a progressive style of camping which is actually 'retro' in its principles.

With a strong environmental commitment and close links with the French Forestry Commission, their campsites are small and uncommercialised but with good facilities, large 120m² pitches and a relaxed feel. They offer several campsites around France, all tucked away in idyllic locations, maybe hidden in
forest clearings, or adjacent to the lapping waves of an island beach. All offer a really innovative range of accommodation: Canadian frontier-style tents with cooking stoves, log cabins and even Romany-style caravans or 'roulottes'.
